This exhibition takes place on the lands of the Ngandowal and Minyungbal speaking people of the Bundjalung Country, in particular the Goodjinburra, Tul-gi-gin and Moorung – Moobah clans. My deepest respects and gratitude belong with the Traditional Custodians of these lands, to Elders past and present. Sovereignty was never ceded.

Figure and Field

Figure and Field brings together three artists from Northern New South Wales and the South East Queensland region: Lucia Canuto, Hilary Herrmann and Meg Stoios, each exploring the human figure in their work.

Between them, they illuminate our emotional and spiritual state in relation to the physical world around us. From the mythic-leaning paintings of Herrmann and the ennui-imbued urbanity of Stoios to the medium-blurring evocations of Canuto, see three unique perspectives, born of local life.

A Tweed Regional Gallery initiative. Curated by Bradley Vincent.
